Epiphones and Squires are such good fucking value right now. I can never pick what I like more, the semi hollows with nice active pickups or my strats on switch 1/3/5.Īnyway, enjoy the guitar man. So, the reason is the resonance of the semi hollow when doing muted strums and percussive chords is really nice and just sounds perfect. Both types of guitars that, imo, are superior for what we are looking for in the phunk. I have 2 Ibanez art core semi hollows and 2 strats. I mainly play funk, jazzy funk and blues. But certain genres have a sound that can't really be achieved with certain guitars. Sure, you could say that and it's mostly true. The generic answer is "any guitar can play any genre". ![]()
